The test of faith begins

The biggest test of my faith began just over a year ago - about August of 2007. I had been having a strange feeling in my feet for maybe a week or so. Don't know if I can explain a weak feeling in your feet but that is what it was like. It progressed to my legs and then my hands. I quickly began to lose the ability to walk which sent me to the emergency room. Doctor's began running all kinds of tests and we finally settled on the diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis. This is an inflamation of the spinal cord as a result of some type of previous illness. The doctors decided that my bouts with shingles was the trigger to the onset of the myelitis. After about 8 weeks of bedrest I slowly began regaining the strength in my legs and hands and soon was back to normal. This lasted until the following August of 2008.
